How to submit a report

1. Online Public Input Instructions

1. Show us your favorite place on the map. Click CLEAR MAP on the menu bar below the map to start. You can zoom in and out using the scroll button on your mouse or the navigation bar on the map. You can also click on the map and drag it in any direction. 

2. When you locate your favorite place, click on the pencil icon below the map, and then click on the map. A red pointer will appear at that location. Drag the red pointer in any direction to adjust the location.

3. Provide answers to the questions in the text boxes.

4. To upload a news source or external video link, copy and paste the url address into the text box.  You can upload more than one link to a news source or external video by using the small + next to the appropriate box.

5. Upload a photo by clicking the browse button and navigating to where your photo is saved.  Note that the size limit for individual photos is 1.5 megabytes.

6. Click Submit to save your information (this might take a few minutes). You'll receive a confirmation page.

7. Add as many scenic viewpoints as you like by repeating this process.

2. A few tips

You can change how the map looks to make it easier to pinpoint the location of your favorite place. Click the layers button on the right side of the map to display a satellite photo or hybrid view.

You can use one of the drawing tools instead of the red pointer to show a larger area or a corridor on the map:

Click the square drawing tool icon, then click on the map to begin drawing a multi-sided shape. Double-click to finish.

Click the line tool icon, then click on the map to draw a line from one area to another. Double-click to finish.

3. Explore what has already been submitted.  

1. The red dots on the map are scenic views that have already been submitted. Click on a red dot and you'll see a balloon like this one. 

2. Click on the Location Name or More Information to bring up a report page that shows the description, location on the map, and any pictures or additional information that has been submitted for this location.

3. You can also click on the menu above the map, or select from a list of reports below the map to see information about locations that have already been submitted.

4. Multiple reports can be submitted for the same location.
